Ayurveda “science of life” is an ancient wisdom from India and is based on natural ways of maintaining human health. When the balance gets disturbed by external influences, Ayurveda has many different ways to correct that misbalance.
According to Ayurveda, there are three different types of body constitution, in Sanskrit dosha’s, consisting of different elements:
VATA consists of air and ether
PITTA consists of fire and water
KAPHA consists of water and earth
A person’s body constitution can be also a combination of different dosha’s
Every body constitution has its own qualities and different methods to bring one back to a state of balance again. Different kinds of foods or herbs can balance or misbalance each dosha. Many influences effect dosha’s, like food, seasons, ways of living, habits, and age etc.
